No News is Good News???

Had my OB appt this afternoon and she opted NOT to check me to see if I've made in progress since I have such an irritable cervix and uterus (see its not ME thats irritable-its my cervix and uterus!!!). So no clue if anything is happening or not though if the stuff I was feeling this weekend is any indication there is a little something going on. Not that it makes any difference because I was 2cm with Bella for almost 2 months until my water broke. So I guess we'll know its time when my water breaks or the Tylenol just isn't hacking it anymore for the contractions (happened quite a few times over the past few days but I honestly don't feel like being stuck in L&D when nothing is happening and I can comfortably be in pain at home in my own bed).

Right now I'm just aiming to make it to next week and keeping my bets on Dec. 5th-I REALLY do NOT want to spend my bday in the hospital!!! He is EXTREMELY low to the point that even the receptionist at Bella's pediatrician made comments LOL I think he is gonna be down in my toes before he gets here-it is seriously NOT comfortable in the least and I guess just weird to me because Bella never got that low even during labor LOL

Spare a few extra prayers for us as we have a bit of a trying week:
  • Hunter keep on cooking!! Even tho its painful for Mama, keep moving so she doesn't worry.
  • Bella seems to have caught a virus thats going around. I had to pick her up early from school today because she was running a fever. Hoping that she feels better when she wakes up in the morning. She was miserable today. Her pediatrician said its mainly pain from her yukky throat and all the drainage. She was burning up this afternoon! I hate it when my baby doesn't feel good.
  • Ben's grma has been admitted to the hospital for what they originally thought was hernia pain (from her bout with cancer) but has turned out to be a kink in her large intestines that was causing a build up of bile. They've drained over 700mL of fluid already and are wanting to wait til Wednesday to determine the next steps. She is 95 years old so surgery is extremely risky BUT may be the only option to fix the situation. We'll most likely be taking Arby's turkey sandwiches up to the family waiting room to celebrate Thanksgiving. Luckily she is at the same hospital that we are having Hunter at so if my water does break at least we'll all be at the same place and she can see Hunter:) Ben's mom and uncle are taking turns staying with her so pray for their ability to get some sleep and strength.
  • For my family during our first Thanksgiving with Nana in Heaven

Thanks!!!!

Aunt Joyce's Visit

I'm a little late posting these but better late than never:) Ben's Aunt Joyce came to visit us during the first week of November all the way from California!!! Bella and I are "official" now since we have met ALL the AUNTS:) We had such a great time and can't wait for Aunt Joyce to come again (and bring Uncle Dan with her)!! She easily became one of Bella's favorite new people, especially after having a blast at the park.

Discussing fruit-I think Bella *almost* convinced her that the tomato was actually an apple LOL

Still Baking

OB appt went good today-my blood pressure is doing great (was a major worry when preggo with Bella) and Hunter's heartbeat is perfect. Still not dilating which is awesome. Gotta stay on bedrest as the doctor says, "Keep doing what your doing because its keeping him in there". I am allowed to drive now so our gameplan for Bella is for Ben to get her ready in the mornings, I'll take her to school after he leaves for work and then I'll pick her up right before he gets home in the afternoon. I can't keep up with her physically and its not fair to try to contain her in our room while I'm still on bedrest. She did really awesome last week going all day long and handled the schedule change like a champ!

I'm still on the surgery schedule for a CSection on Dec. 17th but the doctor said she'd be surprised if he waited that long. We are shooting for 37 wks which would be the first week of December...... see previous post re: mama intuition of Hunter being born on Dec. 5th-how crazy would that be?!?!

Off to be productive and get some work done before I lay down for a bit.

THANK YOU for all the prayers, phone calls and emails!!!!

34 wks

The lovely swelling has kicked in-mostly due to the IV fluids I got at the hospital. You can see my face is still really flush from the steroids. Hunter has dropped even more-hard to tell from these pics but if I *attempt* to sit Indian style, his lil head rests on the floor between my legs LOL I got some great sleep last night and am feeling good (not nearly normal yet) this morning. Bella and Daddy had a MUCH smoother morning today!!!

Latest Update

I'm a little less drugged up now so hopefully I don't miss any of the details:)

Saturday I ended up losing some of my mucus plug-didn't think too much of it since you can lose it up to 6 wks prior to going into labor. I'd been having BH contractions for a few weeks but Sunday they started getting painful, alternating between a sharp stabbing pain and really bad menstrual cramps which reminded me alot of the cramping I had with Bella when I was in actual labor. Sunday evening I started having diarrhea. I had a few conference calls to do so I figured I'd start piling a few things up here and there to get ready to pack my bag and call my OB when the calls were done. I got about half way thru the 2nd call and ended up calling the OB because I could barely hold a conversation when I was having a contraction. They had me come in immediately.

I met my mom at the OB's office where it was determined I wasn't dilating (YAY) but they went ahead and put me on the monitors just to check things out. OB was hoping I was just having a bad tummy bug. Monitors showed hard contractions every 3-4 minutes so the OB shipped me off to the hospital.

Got to the hospital (LOVE the new OB wing at Northwest-the rooms are just like the suites at Willow Creek), got hooked up to the darn monitors which was still showing contractions. Ben left work early to go pick up Bella from school and bring her to the hospital so I could see her before she went down for her nap. She wasn't too sure what to think of Mama laid up in bed with weird tubes but gave me kisses and ate a good lunch. They gave me my first shot of Brethine (same as the Turbutaline that they gave me with Bella) which didn't phase the contractions. I think my mom took Bella home so she could have a nap (everything kind of starts faded together). Got my 2nd shot of Brethine about 20 minutes later-no change. Last shot of Brethine-nothing.

The contractions were now lasting at least a minute each and coming every 2-3 minutes and definitely increasing in intensity (PAIN). It reminded me alot of the contractions I had with Bella when my epidural wasn't working. I also started getting a really bad headache that made it hard to focus on getting thru the contractions. They decided to start magnesium sulfate to get the contractions under control. The nurse (totally awesome chica that I really hope is there when I deliver) warned me that it would make me feel really warm and like I had the worst flu ever. I just wanted Hunter to be ok and to stay in there baking as long as possible so whatever the side effects it would be worth it. WOOOO buddy that warmth kicked in REAL quick!!!! At first it was like taking a shot of vodka-just all over warmth, but then it didn't stop and just kept going all over my entire body and kept getting hotter and hotter. It felt like a sunburn from the inside out-weirdest feeling ever!! I dealt with it, used ice water rags to keep cool and they gave me some Stadol and Phenegren to deal with the pain and nausea, so I just slept most of the time.

The contractions were still coming, not as often or as hard but still definitely there. They gave me two rounds of steroid shots to bump up Hunter's lung development (thats when I started to worry). The flu part of the magnesium kicked in and I felt like I'd been hit by a Mack truck-it just plain sucked. Plus I had a stupid catheter in so I couldn't exactly get up and move around. The contractions were easing up a bit so they decided to start weaning me off the magnesium on Tuesday morning. Sure enough, soon as it started leaving my system, the contractions started right back up. They checked me again and I wasn't dilating at all. They did an FFP to see if I would be going into labor within 2 weeks and it came back negative so they decided to let me go home on strict bedrest with Tylenol for pain.

Bella was VERY happy to have her mama and daddy back home yesterday!! I was still pretty much out of it yesterday and tried to rest as much as possible. I feel like my body and this pregnancy has done a 360-I get tired so easy and out of breath, especially during contractions. I'm really having to limit myself as just getting up to check emails seems to kick my butt. I have my next OB appt on Monday morning. We're hoping Mr. Hunter can keep baking til the first week of December-I'll be 37 weeks by then and he should be doing great!!! Looks like that mama instinct of Dec. 5th might just be a possibility.

Bella has made us so proud! Her lil world has gone topsy turvy this week and she has handled it like a champ! Thank you to everyone that has pitched in to take care of her and meals and everything around the house-ya'll mean the world to us!!! I'll try to check in and update as much as possible-expect lots of updates cuz I'm getting bored!

Mama Gut Feeling

No my stomach isn't hurt LOL I just keep having a premonition of the date that Hunter will be born. I had the same thing happen with Bella (on top of knowing by 6wks that she was most definitely a SHE despite every single person insisting it HAD to be a boy!!!). Bella's due date was July 28th and at the beginning I kept thinking she was going to be born in August for some reason. Then towards the end, in the 3rd trimester, I KNEW she would be born July 15th. I had always told her she was NOT allowed to be born on July 10th because that was Mama and Daddy's day (our anniversary). For some reason, July 15th just kept coming to me and I even told Ben I knew thats when she'd come. I totally forgot about it and then she was born on July 15th and Ben reminded me-we all got a good laugh out of it.

This time, Hunter's due date is Christmas Day with a CSection scheduled for Dec. 17th. I have always doubted I would make it that far along since Bella was born at 38wks. The past month I've been having dreams that my water breaks and when I go to the bathroom I keep getting this premonition that my water is gonna break (I KNOW I'm weird!!!). So the past week or so, Dec. 5th keeps coming to me. At first I kept checking every calendar I have trying to figure out what is going on that day, what significance it plays, etc. thinking its just a date stuck in my head because I have something going on that day. Nada. So now I'm really thinking its the day that Hunter is going to arrive. I would be 37 1/2 wks so he would be just fine and it would be consistent with previous birth history. And it would be nice because it would be far enough from Christmas that we could still really make it a special day for him every year. PLUS it would be a Friday, so Bella could still stay with my mom without her having to take off work since I would just be in the hospital over the weekend, and then Ben could take off the next 10 days until my mom's vacation starts. k gonna stop planning this out in my head before I jinx it LOL BUT if Dec. 5th is THE day, then there are only 27 days left HOLY CRAP!!!!!!!

Latest Appt

I've officially hit 30 lbs (EEEEEK) but thats half of what I was at with Bella at this point so I'm not stressing. Just gotta pray it comes off as quickly and easily as it did with her and keep it off this time!!!

Hunter is doing great, measuring right on target and wonderful heartbeat of 160. I talked to the OB about him being so low and she said, "Yep he is definitely eager to make his appearance." She'll start cervical checks at the next appt to monitor whether I'm dilating. Looks like things are doing great:)

32 weeks

OMG so if I actually make it to the CSection date, Mr. Man will be here in little over a month and a half!!!! We're guessing he'll be here in about a month. We've got everything ready that he would absolutely need in the beginning-PLENTY of clothes, a place to sleep and one box of size 1 diapers LOL I have his bag packed-need to pack one for me, one for Ben and probably a few for Bella:) Luckily nesting kicked in today and we were able to get ALOT done around the house (perfect timing for Ben's Aunt Joyce to visit this week LOL).

I'm feeling awesome and find it so hard to believe that I'm feeling this great so late into the pregnancy. I guess the 3rd trimester with Bella kinda scarred me for life. Other than Hunter being EXTREMELY low (as in I can feel his limbs moving in the nether regions and it seriously feels like he is gonna pop his arm out and wave at me), I've only had one day of major discomfort and oh boy I was in PAIN because he was just so so so low. Otherwise I feel awesome, only have minimal swelling in my hands (hard to get my rings off) and have hit the stage where sleep isn't very restful (just preparing us for a new baby).

Bella (her lovely new Paris Hilton cheese) listening to the baby in HER belly LOL

32 weeks!!!!!

I screamed when this one came on the screen-literally!! No make up and huge scary stretch marks-best birth control in the world:)

Fall Fun

Preacher Lady found an old bible and decided to give us a sermon while we cooked dinner

Serious Business

Her newest cheese LOL She went in our bedroom and pulled out the baby doppler and wanted to listen to the baby in HER tummy:)

I swept all the leaves from the driveway into a big pile. Bella LOVED it!!! She ran through it and rode her bike all over them LOL

Diving into the leaves-my lil daredevil

Phew that was hard work!!! Gotta take a rest
